Tips on playing point guard?

Sup everyone. Last year I played shooting guard on my high school's varsity basketball team. Unless anything major happened, I'll be a shooting guard this year also. But I really want to play point guard. See, my skills are more fit for a shooting guard, but I want to learn the point because I'm only 6'0, and thats too short to play SG in college. Basically, I want to learn point guard now so I can play it in college ball. Any tips on how to run the point? Thanks
