Is This A Plausible Theory About Pandorum?
Gallo thought primitive was better, that an advanced race like humanity was the cause of Earth's overpopulation, leak of natural resources, and its demises. He believed that this would also happen again with Tanis if he didn't do something about it. He believed if life ate life, that if it was in its primitive/natural/raw state there would be no overpopulation and leak of natural resources, everything would be balanced and perfect. Gallo plays "a nasty little game" with himself to pass the time, it shows that he enjoys driving people mad. There is a good chance that Gallo has played this kind of game with the passengers he released so they can get Pandorum like himself which he sees as "enlightment". This would also explain why the crew are also seen with lightning over their heads on the drawings like Gallo, to represent Pandorum the "evil that grew" as Leland put it. So when Leland said that "he cast out those who behaved" he meant that Gallo would let those who gave into Pandorum and believed in his philosophy go out into the ship to live in a raw and natural state of survival of the fittest. This ideal was passed dawn to the descendants of crew and would explain why they feed on their own. When Leland mentioned that "a whole new world of evil grew" he meant that's when the de-evolution kicked in and deformities were caused due sleeping under a nuclear reactor for generations. And those who didn't behave were killed and eaten by Gallo as shown in of drawing of him. That's why he tried to convince Bower into giving into Pandorum, so that he could be a part of the new world that he created.
